So, you’ve gone to court for a DWI; you likely have a lot of questions. What happens to my license? When does this come off my record? What do I need to do to make the court happy? Now what?
My firm will send you a letter and checklist based on what happened in court. Each case is different, but it can be challenging to remember when they’re telling you about community service or fines in court. So we write it all down for you. You may have follow-up questions, and we don’t stop offering you support and answers. If laws change and impact your case, we’ll reach back out.
Some people worry about their careers. If this is a nurse, a doctor, or somebody with a professional license, we ensure the client knows what to expect based on our experience. We will discuss what to say to those professional boards and what to do so it goes well.
What people are usually worried about are driver’s license issues. With a first-time DWI, there are just a few tiny hoops you may have to jump through after court. However, the much more severe DWIs might lose their license for five or 10 years, or even permanently. We work with our clients to ensure they can drive legally, even with a suspended license. Our clients have all the information they need to move forward in a positive direction.
A DWI does not define a person’s identity if you don’t let it. We put people in positions to be able to move on successfully from their DWI, which is something we take a lot of pride in. We help people put themselves back on the right road for the rest of their lives.
